$165M Upgrading for 36,000 HDB Homes – More Senior-Friendly Amenities with NRP & SUP

New HDB Upgrading Projects Will Benefit Over 36,000 Households Across Singapore

As part of continued efforts to improve heartland living, the Ministry of National Development (MND) and HDB have announced new rounds of upgrades under the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) and Silver Upgrading Programme (SUP).

A total of $165 million has been committed to 17 new NRP projects in locations like Sembawang, Sengkang, and Bukit Panjang, benefitting over 25,000 households. Additionally, SUP will expand to 12 more precincts, including Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Merah, and Toa Payoh, covering another 11,000 households.

Upgraded Features Residents Can Expect:

  • Therapeutic gardens and wheelchair-accessible planter boxes

  • 3-Generation fitness trails and rest stops

  • Covered linkways, barrier-free access ramps

  • Wayfinding features for seniors

Higher Budget Per Household for Senior-Friendly Upgrades

Starting from this new NRP batch, the budget will increase from $6,100 to around $6,600 per flat to accommodate these senior-centric enhancements, aligned with the Age Well SG initiative.
